RITUAL

I can't believe it but there are only 4 days left to go. Oh the way time flies is really freaking me out. I saw a table in the family lounge with HP and the Deathly Hallows and New Moon.

I must say they look really good together.

Drama lesson was really interesting today. Maybe a little scary too. I found the lyrics of Youth of the Nation very meaningful and kinda sad too...I didn't really like the music and tune though, I prefer to read the lyrics as a poem. We had to attend a "funeral" and it was really...weird and mildly freaky. The teacher used a piano seat as the coffin. I must confess that it was kinda scary cuz the piano seat was all black and the top was leatherish and it really looked kinda like a coffin. The worst part was when we had to write our loved ones' names on pieces of paper to get one of them crushed and thrown underneath the "coffin", and assume that they had committed suicide. Oh. I just can't say who committed suicide. Urgh. It's really sad :(

Then came the part where we had to say a message to the dead killer "Johnny boy", who shot his classmates. It was just like a little ritual where everyone was taking the pieces of newspaper they had folded up and placing them on the "coffin" top. When the teacher asked us why people do rituals, there were so many long pauses and I was just looking down and staring at the "coffin". OO... I guess I'd feel really sad to attend a real ritual like this. I think one big reason, as the teacher said what people had rituals for was maybe not only for the dead person but for the people alive. Gather the living ones together, sit down and think about why that particular person isn't with them. It would be a great time for some reflection too, and maybe for guilt to overcome you...?

Anyway, on to something else. I think Purity stands a chance for getting a prize for National Day class decoration. To be honest, I was really surprised when I saw the bulletin board today. I didn't think we would put in so much effort but I was extremely impressed and proud of Purity when I saw the board. We can do it! It's something we have to prove to other classes.

Finally moving towards the end of the week. Once again I state that the speed of time still scares me.
